Cooking – 4 July

Happy 4th July! To celebrate we decided to make out own version of the Stars and Stripes. We had a selection of fruit and a sketch of a flag on some greaseproof paper. Then it was just a case of working out what would look best where.

White stripes? We decided on bananas. Red stripes? Strawberries and raspberries. Blue area? Blueberries. Stars? Mini-marshmallows. (Okay, we know these aren’t fruit, but they’re small, yummy and idea for edible fruit flagmaking.) The result? See our gallery below.

But we didn’t want to be too healthy, so we decided we’d adorn some gingerbread men with red, white and blue decorations. Yum. Perfect with our break-time cup of tea!
